Have something to say?
Retainer rollover
Carry a controlled amount of unused retainer time into the next period. Rollover is opt-in, capped and expires after one period. Existing retainers keep it off until enabled, and new rules begin with the next full period so earlier invoices and saved history do not change. This is available in the web app.
Pomodoro focus timer
Use adjustable focus and break countdowns without recording break time as client work. Choose the focus and break lengths on Timer. Starting a break stops and saves the active work timer, while resuming work remains an explicit choice. Countdown expiry never starts or stops billable work automatically. This is available in the web app.
Extra-work approval
Ask a client to approve extra time or charges before work moves beyond the agreed scope. Prepare a clear request linked to the client and project, showing the proposed extra hours or charge before work continues. Keep the decision and its wording with the job so the later report or invoice has a reviewable record. Nothing is approved, billed or sent automatically.
Stripe client invoicing
Connect Stripe separately from Klok Pro billing and choose Square or Stripe for each client project. Klok is building a separate Stripe Connect route for invoices sent to your own clients. Choose the provider per project, map the right customer and prepare a reviewable invoice from checked Klok time and expenses. Draft for review remains the default. Automatic sending needs an explicit project choice, and payment updates are accepted only from verified Stripe events. Klok Pro subscription billing stays separate. This is in progress and is not available on the public service yet.
Klok for Windows and Mac
Klok for Windows and Mac is planned as a native desktop client with system-tray controls, global shortcuts, optional launch at login, reliable offline commands, idle Keep or Discard choices, operating-system notifications and secure updates. A personal or test desktop build exists, but there is no public download yet. Automatic screenshots and activity monitoring are not included.
Desktop reporting workspace
Give desktop users a focused reporting workspace for comparing periods, reopening saved views, reviewing uninvoiced time and jumping directly to entries that need correction. Keep totals calculated by the trusted server.
Action notifications
Offer optional, useful notifications for a timer left running, a failed client report, a retainer threshold or a Square invoice needing attention. Keep controls clear, quiet by default and configurable by the user.
Flexible Calendar editing
Make Calendar faster to correct by allowing entries to be moved, duplicated and adjusted visually. Preserve version checks, invoice locks, workspace dates and explicit confirmation before changing recorded time.
Keyboard command palette
Expand Klok search into an accessible command palette. Use Cmd or Ctrl + K to start or stop time, add a manual entry, switch projects and open common pages without reaching for the mouse.
Install Klok on desktop
Install Klok from a supported desktop browser with its own Klok window, icon and taskbar or Dock shortcut. Keep workspace data secure, make connectivity clear and provide a safe offline screen without caching sensitive account responses.
Client profitability
Understand which clients and projects are worth your time. Client profitability in Reports compares issued invoice fees with all your recorded hours, including non-billable work. Keep currencies separate and show recorded labour and expense costs alongside the effective invoiced rate. Missing cost rates, credits and unassigned manual fees stay explicit, so fees are not mistaken for payments or net business profit. Available now in Web 0.61.68. Choose Client profitability in Reports and group by client or project. Invoice issue dates and work dates can differ; the report explains this date basis. Recorded costs show contribution before overheads and tax.
End-of-day review
Finish the day with a quick review of recorded time, including forgotten running timers, missing descriptions and entries that still need a client or project. Klok can also send an optional scheduled end-of-day email with the sections you choose, while showing the next and last delivery. Suggested corrections remain review-only, so nothing is changed or billed without approval. This is available in the web app.
Klok for iPhone
The Klok iPhone app is under development. It will bring the core mobile timer and essential workspace details to iPhone, using the same secure Klok account and connected client record as the web app. Store testing and App Store review will follow once the first build is ready.
Automatic Square billing
Automatic Square billing is released. After an owner connects Square and maps a customer, Klok can run due project billing from the saved schedule. Draft for review remains the default, while automatic sending must be enabled and confirmed for each project. Reusable invoice wording can be saved, but it does not replace the provider or customer mapping. Secure token refresh, disconnect handling and duplicate-safe retries are included.
Klok for Android
The Klok Android app is in testing with secure sign-in, workspace timer controls and a home-screen widget. The widget can refresh in the background, offers targeted timer actions and always makes connection state clear. The Google Play release package, store checks and approval still need to complete before public download.
Track time from the browser
The Klok Chrome extension is in testing. It can start and stop the same workspace timer, show recent and pinned jobs, add manual time and queue safe timer commands while the connection is interrupted. Testing covers secure connection, recovery and the Chrome Web Store package. It is not yet publicly downloadable.
